mmmmm....Morrocan....NOM NOM NOM!!

So a friend organised a ladies night out to the superb MORROCAN SOUP BAR. This is a Muslim owned business that serves the most D-LISH vegetarian menu. The food is wholesome, filling and very rustic. Like food your mumma would make you (just minus the meat).

We turned up to a full house, people even lining up outside the door, so as you can imagine it was quite rambunctious with lots of laughter and atmosphere. We always ask for the set menu and are always delighted with  plates of warm rice and lentils, spicy veggies, eggplant sprinkled with crunchy slivered almonds and sides of creamy yogurt...mmmmmm. My all time favorite dish is tesseya, chick peas with fried Lebanese bread topped with yogurt and oh-so yummmy butter!! I LOVE butter!!

My foody buddies had a hankering for coke, this place only serves water so Yussra snuck off and came in all proud-like with three cans. After a little provocation by me they feared reprisal by the owner so held their cups covered in napkins to hide the coke and held the cans under the table, I couldn't stop laughing! they looked like a bunch of alcoholics trying to sneak booze into a alcohol free restaurant. Oh laughing is so therapeutic!!!

We got a little lost on our way to desert but it was soooo worth the wait, I had fondue with dark and milk chocolate, sliced banana, strawberries, marshmallows and banana bread!! YUMMMM
Alhamdulillah had an awesome night, cant wait for the next!

my long time friend Umber :) (whos also a Dr, so proud of her mashAllah!)

Yussra with her 'dodgy' coke lollll

saw an awesome shop next door to Morrocan, love the details!
