friday night....wedding night

So I was invited to a wedding this weekend, it was so lovely of the mother to invite me to her sons wedding as I don't really know them very well, was really appreciated as I don't get to go to many weddings due to the fact that I don't go to mixed weddings either.

I had a MASSIVE attack of the "what to wears" like 20 minutes before I was due to be picked up. Initially I felt like being brave and wearing something a lil off centre and Lady Ga Ga -like, but since I have gained those extra kilos everything I try on makes me feel fat. I normally change my clothes at  least once whenever I go anywhere, last night I changed it probably 5 times, no jokes. I finally brought it down to two outfits, the first was a green dress which is also one of my designs, this my hubby loved on me, its an outfit that really stands out so I decided last night wasn't the time for it as I was feeling "fat" and when you feel this way you cant really carry a loud, ga-gaesque outfit. The second was the choice I went with, I picked up this vintage piece a few months back, its actually two sizes too big on me and almost fits like a moo moo dress, but when I saw it I thought belt, jacket and heels. So that's exactly how I wore it. It felt comfy but my jacket felt a little too snug, again fault of the weight.

I hate me and my over eating, I decided then and there I was going to starve myself. You know it aint gonna happen though right? Cos in the next minute I was stuffing my face with the MOST awesome reception food I have tasted, honestly I have had some shockers in the past but this place had restaurant quality food! Want to know what I ate? No? Too bad Ima telling you! I had spinach and ricotta ravioli for an entree, stuffed chicken fillet with mushroom sauce mash and zucchini for main and sticky date pudding as desert!! Try that!! No tasteless chicken parmigiana here! (for all you here in Melbourne I'm sure you know what that refers to!!)

Alhamdulillah twas a lovely wedding, my older sister Emel is our entertainment as always her dance moves make me laugh!!Oh and the bridesmaids were smashing!! MashAllah I absolutely loved their outfits, they were baby pink maxis that were very feminine and girly teamed with grey (one of my fav colour combos) their hijabs were styled, again very pretty and subtle. Personally that's the way I like hijabs to look, still like a hijab and not a brain or cake. The brides dress was very beautiful too, classy and elegant I wish I had taken a few snaps of her!
